SUMMARY:Taylor White Memorial Fundraiser - The Annex
DESCRIPTION:The Taylor White Memorial Scholarship was created in May of 2021 in honor of Taylor S. White\, who passed away in a drowning accident on the Mississippi River on August 22\, 2020. It is our hope that this scholarship will help many Platteville High School student athletes over the years and help keep Taylor’s memory alive in the hearts of many. \nTaylor was a tremendous athlete growing up. He participated in wresting\, football\, and baseball\, where he pitched for the Platteville Hillmen in the WIAA State Baseball Finals his Senior year (2007). After high school\, he continued to play ball for Highland Community College in Freeport\, IL\, and later at the University of Dubuque. He spent many years as a PHS football coach as well as some time as a youth baseball coach. He was also an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan (and a Wisconsin Badger fan\, but only football). He will forever be remembered by the many people who knew him\, not only for his athleticism\, but for his unbeatable sense of humor\, his grin\, his love for others\, and his ability to make anyone smile even on their worst day. Taylor was truly a one-of-a-kind human being who always went out of his way to make sure everyone else was having a good time. He was the type of person that\, no matter how hard you might try\, you could not stay mad it. He was a wonderful son\, brother\, uncle\, cousin\, and friend\, and an amazing dad to his son\, Bronson\, who was born in 2016 – the year the Chicago Cubs finally won the World Series. \nThe Taylor White Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to its first recipient during the 2021-2022 school year. Eligible applicants must be students of Platteville High School and have participated in a varsity sport their Junior and Senior years. It is our hope that by doing a memorial event every year\, we can raise enough money to award this scholarship to at least one PHS student athlete each year going forward. \nBean Bag Tournament – $40 per Team\nLive Music\nSilent Auction and Raffles\n50/50\nFood
